Bangkok is on the international media highlight recently. Not because for its beautiful city and gorgoeus nightlife, but for a travel warning. Many countries had warned their people not to visit Bangkok. Bangkok is dangerous, a big riots happened after a protest from Red Shirt against the government. About ten thousands of Red Shirt protesters have gathered outside the army barracks in Bangkok where Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is holed up, demanding his resignation.
Fortunately, the riots ended with peace on each other side. Yes, the violent protests in Bangkok ended on 21st May 2010. And now it is the time to build up this beautiful city. While the threat of further protests still remains, it appears that for the time being Bangkok has started to return to normal. It is worth remembering that in Southern Thailand in the provinces of Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Songkhla there is still a threat of insurgency. Luckily this is away from most tourist areas but it is advisable to speak to your travel agent just to be careful.
If you still don't dare going to Bangkok, let's consider another places in Thailand such as Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phuket, and so more. Thailand is not just one Bangkok.
Bangkok Tourism today. To Go Bangkok or not go ?
Many tourist had canceled their flight trip to Bangkok or Thailand cities. Some are reroute to another destination inside South East Asia such as Malaysia and Indonesia. Some are choose to refund their ticket. It is reasonable for tourist to avoid Bangkok, even today Bangkok has began to recover from the bloody riots protest.
The Australian government had issued its highest travel warning, Bangkok had a night-time curfew and thousands of people had cancelled their flights.
Now, actually in Bangkok, he curfew had just lifted and the Red Shirt anti-government protesters gone home. Thailand had begun a new campaign to woo back tourists after losing up to $US2.2 billion in tourism revenue during the crisis, which had begun in March and had left nearly 90 people dead.
Many tourist now had arrived at the tourist centre of Khoa San Road district and noticed the area was moderately busy. Every few minutes you can saw a backpacker walking around. So not everyone had cancelled their flights. But some hostel, which was considered to be popular, was only about 20 per cent occupied.
"It got busy from today," said Rao, one of the hostel workers. "But some hotels have only one guest."
Some of them had postponed their visit to Bangkok and had gone to other parts of the country until the curfew lifted.
"Last time I came here it was 24-hour party, party, party," said a Norwegian girl of the street where bars are open until late and street vendors spruik everything from "ping-pong" shows to pirated DVDs, to fake drivers' licences to women's clothing.
"At least it's not dead like it was last night," said a friendly Israeli backpacker.
Let's Visit Bangkok. It is safe
Many airlines now are tend to give a big discount for a direct flight to Bangkok. Let's say the low fare airlines, Airasia, give a free seat to Bangkok. Many hotels and travel service are doing the same thing. Bangkok is not that bad actually, there are still many things to see. So let's visit Bangkok again.

Bangkok Gays Bars Silom Soi 2
Thailand is a heaven for Gays (Bisexual), as the country is one of the most tolerant in cultures. You may find a lot of gays or lesbians through the capital city, Bangkok.
Thailand has a thriving gay and lesbian bar scene, which attracts tourists from all over the world. Many cities are providing the gays area, such as Hatyai, Pattaya, Phuket. In Bangkok, the gay bars are concentrated along Silom Soi 2 and Soi 4, with Soi 2 being considered 'more gay'. Slightly seedier bars can be found off Surawong Road, along Soi Anuman Rachathon and Soi Tawan. Other bars can be found sprinkled along Sukhumvit, especially Soi 23, and Tanao Road in the Banglumpoo area. All of these bars cater to males only.
The Most famous Gays district in Bangkok, no doubt is Silom Soi 2. Silem Boy 2 is a short lane off Silom crammed with bars and restaurants that caters exclusively to the gay community. Soi 2 is widely considered to be 'more gay' than nearby Soi 4. The bars get hot and sweaty on Friday and Saturday nights and it's hard to move, let alone dance to the trendy underground sounds. Men wandering into these bars at the weekend can expect to be groped from all quarters.
Silom has the most to see, with three Soi’s offering some great gay venues. Silom Soi 2, featuring the famous DJ Station and other pubs, is very popular with the Thai community, making that Soi the most popular Soi on Silom. A two minute walk from there is Silom Soi 2/1, where @Richard’s Pub & Restaurant (Thai & western food) and G.O.D nightclub (after hours dancing) is located. About 4 minutes from there is Silom Soi 4, with Sphinx Restaurant, Balcony Pub, and Telephone Pub; all of them have good food.
In between Silom and Sathorn Road, there are several massage shops to stop in at to have a great massage and relax. On Soi Sala Daeng, you can have a great dinner at Fab Cuisine and next door is a new gay guest house, Baan Sala Daeng. For some fine dining check out Coyote Restaurant and Eat Me Restaurant on Soi Convent. Down a-ways on Naratiwat is the OmYim Lodge for a nice, reasonably-priced guesthouse.
And a trip to gay and lesbian Bangkok would not be complete without an encounter with a “ladyboy” (Katoey in Thai). The majority of ladyboys are “she-males” who are unable to pay for a full sex change operation, and so are exploiting their comfort with being with either men or women. They often do not comply to the generally subservient nature of Thai women, and can be fairly feisty, but they are also renowned for taking good care of their health.

Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew Bangkok
The Grand Palace may be one of the main tourist attractions in Bangkok. Since the founding of Bangkok as the Nations capital by King Rama I, The Grand Palace has been the major architectural symbol of The Thai Royal Family. In the present time, The Royal Family resides at Chitralada Palace while The Grand Palace is used for ceremonial purposes.
The main buildings within the Grand Palace compound were built for King Rama V, who was the first Thai King to travel to Europe.
Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace together are probably the number one tourist attraction in Bangkok. The Wat Phra Kaew or Temple of the Emerald Buddha is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple (wat) in Thailand. The temple containing the Emerald Buddha.
The grounds of Wat Phra Kaew actually comprises of many ‘wats’ (Buddhist temples), all of which are superb examples of classical Thai Buddhist temples from the current Rattanakosin style era. Polished gold stupas rise up among ornate pillars and roofs which are studded with small mirrors and cut glass, which on close inspection has the appearance of an intricate mosaic, but from afar simply glitters and sparkles.
The chief attraction here is the Wat Phra Kaew itself, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which was erected in 1782. This is the most sacred temple in the complex and Buddhist ceremonies are often held here. Adjacent to it is the Grand Palace – one of several Royal residences.
Grand Palace and Wat Phra Entrance Admission
Admission to the Wat Phra Kaew and Grand Palace compound is 200 Baht for foreigners, and free for Thais. The temple is open from 08:30 until 15:30. In order to enter you need to be wearing a long sleeved t-shirt and shorts or skirts also are not permitted, nor are flip-flop style sandals. However, any of these items of clothing are available for hire at the entrance if you are not dressed correctly when you arrive.
How to access Grand Palace and Wat Phra
To get to The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, ask any taxi driver or alternatively you can get an express boat from the pier at Saphan Thaksin (by BTS station of the same name) and alight at Tha Chang, from where you can walk to the main road and then you’ll see the temple grounds in front of you. If you are staying in Khao San Road or nearby, the temple is reachable on foot – you’ll need a map though.

Thailand Bangkok Soapy Massage Parlors
A Bangkok Soapy Massage has got to be top of the list for any visitor to the city of angels. There are so many Massage Parlours in Bangkok, or should we say Sexy Soapy Massage Parlors in Bangkok. This section was written by a friend who appears to have been a busy happy chappy on his visits to Bangkok. There are two spellings of parlor - parlour to suit the tastes of our British English visitors and American English visitors. As this account has been compiled over a number of trips (and years) some of this information may well be out of date. The names of the massage parlours may have changed or they may even have gone out of business. Nevertheless like most types of businesses in Thailand they tend to congregate in areas close to each other. So if your chosen massage parlour is not there any more you shouldn't have to go far to find another.
Of course quite often the sexy Thai massage girls also move on to another massage position either to a new massage parlor in Bangkokor maybe into retirement when they meet that special customer who takes her for the ultimate long time massage experience.
There are literally thousands of Thai massage parlors in Bangkok, Thailand. Essentially, there are three types of massage: the soapy massage, the Thai massage and the herbal oil massage. We all know that many massage parlors are little more than a front for prostitution, and in many massage parlors, this extra option is readily available.
This has to be the ultimate entertainment experience in this exciting city, if you have not tried it, you owe it to yourself to try this at least once. Although we are sure that it won't be your last. In the various massage parlors there seems to be a similar procedure.
Upon entering the establishment, you will be lead to a reception area where you will see a group of girls, usually in another room with a one way mirror. While you are admiring the females, you can always get a drink while you take your time to make your choice. Once you have made your selection, just give the manager the name and number(s). The girl will be brought out to greet you, and you could have a drink and chat with her, or simply head to the private room. Be fully aware gentlemen that you will be expected to settle the bill in advance of departing to the room.
Massage Parlors in Bangkok
Girls sitting behind the glass window for you to choose
Upon reaching the room with your selected escort, you may be offered the opportunity to order another drink, both for yourself and your companion. Chatting is optional, you may wish to progress and head for the type of massage you have selected. Depending on the option that you have chosen, you will first be placed in a soapy bubble bath, pleasurably cleaned up by your companion(s), and if you have chosen the body massage you will get the rubber mattress treatment. If you have not yet had this pleasure, it is widely recommended. Another suggestion, if your budget allows, is the “sandwich” where you get two young ladies to attend to all your needs.
Once you have been dried, and are squeaky clean from the soapy bath and massage, you will be shown to the bed, which is usually round or oval. This is round two of your pleasures, so prepare yourself. You can tell if the young lady is enjoying her time with you about now, since if she did not, she would be reluctant to spend even more time with you. The body massage usually takes about 90 minutes, but can last as long as two and a half hours if your masseuses are happy with the way you are treating them.
If all you are really looking for is a good body massage, then opt for traditional Thai massage, which originated some two and a half thousand years ago. The techniques were passed on originally by word of mouth, then written upon palm leaves. These may be viewed at the Wat Pho temple in Bangkok.

Patpong Bangkok Red Light District
Patpong is a district in Bangkok famous for its red light district, as a main sex industry in Thailand. The Patpong area is a couple of blocks between Silom and Suriwong Roads, just down from the Sala Daeng Skytrain Station and is home to the city's most popular and renowned night market, many fine shops, restaurants, five star hotels and the main draw of all, some of the city's most boisterous nightlife. If you're visiting Bangkok, or are lucky enough to live here, you'll know that the main attraction is the area's world class bars.
Patpong is an entertainment district in Bangkok, Thailand, catering mainly, though not exclusively, to foreign tourists and expatriates. While Patpong is internationally known as a red light district at the heart of Bangkok's sex industry, the city in fact has numerous red-light districts that are far more popular with Thai men. A busy night market aimed at tourists is also located in Patpong.
When people talk about Bangkok night markets, there is nobody who does not know Patpong. It is a paradise for tourists who like to buy cheap souvenirs before leaving Thailand. The challenging thing for vendors and buyers is to bargain wisely. The lowest offer you can get depends on how much you can use your talent to negotiate.
Many kinds of souvenirs are sold along the street, such as hand-made products, carved woods, home decorations, etc. Products with fake brand names are most popular in this Bangkok night market. They can range from small things to big things, such as earrings, copies of DVDs and CDs, belts, sunglasses, T-shirts, bags and suitcases which are given the sturdy slap test!
Patpong Nightlife
Patpong Nightlife can't be seperated with Agogo bars, Beer bars, BJ bars, Discos, Fetish bars, Karaoke bars, Massage, Nightclubs, Pubs, ST bars, and so on.
In Patpong Soi 2, close to the Foodland Supermarket is Club Electric Blue, the most popular of all of Patpong's agogo bars. Owned and run by Westerners with long experience managing bars, Club Electric Blue makes a point of creating a comfortable setting for the girls and customers.
Other popular bars with pretty ladies on the premises include King's Castle 1 & 2, Queen's Castle II and Camelot's Castle. These bars are next to each other in the middle of Patpong Soi 1 and can get very busy. These particular bars are part of the King's Group of Bars, a group of some 15 odd bars owned by the same group. This group pledges that customers will not have any problems in their bars, always good to know if you are new to Patpong and entering such bars makes you a little nervous.
